“We will pay you to shut up”: Jack Doherty, Shuffle and six months of silence

Shuffle's X account joked it would pay Jack Doherty to shut up. Twelve days later he said a contract bars him from posting, and Shuffle's co-founder called it money well spent. The posts, the times and the gaps.

On 27 September Shuffle’s official X account told Jack Doherty it would pay him to shut up. Twelve days later Doherty posted that he had signed a contract with Shuffle.com and was no longer allowed to post online. Shuffle’s co-founder confirmed it 68 minutes after that: six months, “money well spent”.

Below are the posts themselves, with their exact times and view counts, and a list of what nobody has shown yet.

  • Who: Jack Doherty, 23, YouTuber and Kick streamer. 15.1 million YouTube subscribers on 12 October 2026.
  • Casino: Shuffle.com, run by Natural Nine B.V. under Curaçao licence OGL/2024/1337/0628.
  • What both sides say: a contract term bars Doherty from posting online. Shuffle’s co-founder Noah Dummett says the term is six months.
  • Contract text: not published.
  • Payment: not disclosed.
  • Start date, end date, penalty: not public.
  • Status on 12 October 2026: no new post on Doherty’s X since the 10 October note. His last Kick stream was on 3 October.
  • Ad label: X shows “Paid partnership” on Doherty’s note.

Alex Jovanovic: “Casino deals usually pay a streamer to talk about the casino. Here both sides say the deal pays him to stay quiet. I read casino terms for a living, and I have never seen this one. Nobody has shown it to me yet either.”

The joke on 27 September

At 21:48 UTC on 27 September (14:48 Pacific), Doherty asked his followers on X: “Should I go live on kick and start trading meme coins?” Four hours later Shuffle’s account answered under it. The reply went out at 01:52 UTC on 28 September, which was still the evening of 27 September in the US.

On 12 October the question had 417,000 views and the reply had 325,000. On 10 October new replies started to arrive under Shuffle’s post. One of them reads: “U did pay him to shut the fuck up”.

In the same days Doherty was live on Kick. His stream titles from 25 September to 3 October read “playing stake.us”. On 1 October the title was “sending $JACK to all time highs on fomo!”. His last stream ran on 3 October for 60 minutes. The titles do not say who paid for those streams, if anyone did.

“Need to get my money up”

On 7 October Doherty posted twice. The first post: “I genuinely don’t understand how people struggle to make money. It’s literally the easiest thing in the world 😭”. It had 2 million views on 12 October.

The second went out at 20:54 UTC and had 554,000 views by 12 October:

$JACK is his meme coin. He names it himself in this post and in a Kick title. Reports say Shuffle then pointed back to its 27 September reply and said the offer was legit. Shuffle’s X account did not open for us without a login, so we have not read that post ourselves.

Alex Jovanovic: “On one day he wrote that making money is the easiest thing in the world, and that he needs sponsors to get his money up. Both posts are still online. I will let them argue with each other.”

The note: “I think I actually f***ed up”

At 01:18 UTC on 10 October (18:18 Pacific on 9 October), Doherty posted a screenshot of a phone note with the caption “I’ll be back soon…”.

This is the full text of the note, as it reads in the image:

Hey guys, I think I actually fucked up

I recently signed a contract with a casino called shuffle.com but I didn’t read the contract fully… One of the terms is that I’m not allowed to post online anymore, which I thought was a joke but now they’re enforcing it

Working with my lawyer to try and fix this

This might be my last post for a while, I’ll try and be back soon

Jack Doherty, note posted on X

By 12 October the post had 13.5 million views. X shows a “Paid partnership” label under it, with a link to X’s rules on paid partnerships. So the post that says he cannot post is itself marked as paid. Some early coverage said none of the posts carried an ad label. We saw the label on 12 October. We cannot tell when it was added.

Shuffle’s answer: “money well spent”

Noah Dummett, Shuffle’s co-founder, quoted the note at 02:26 UTC, 68 minutes after Doherty posted it. His X bio reads “building Shuffle”.

The post had 21 million views on 12 October. The part about lawyers is Dummett’s account. No lawyer for Doherty has spoken in public, and no court filing has been reported. Reports also say Dummett replied “Good riddance” under the note. We have not seen that reply ourselves.

Alex Jovanovic: “Twenty-one million views for a post about getting someone off the internet. For a deal about silence, it is very loud.”

The timeline in one table

Every time in the table comes from the post itself. X shows times in your own time zone, so we checked them against the post IDs, which carry the time in UTC. That is also why some outlets date Shuffle’s reply 27 September and others 28 September. Both are right in their zone.

What nobody has shown

  • The contract. No text, no clause and no list of the platforms it covers. Everything we know about the term comes from the two parties.
  • The money. “Money well spent” is the only line about payment. No figure has been published. Any number you see online is a guess.
  • The dates. Six months from when? Nobody has said. There is no public end date and no public penalty.
  • The lawyers. Doherty says he works with one. Dummett says Doherty’s lawyers push to scrap the deal. No lawyer has put a name or a statement on the record.
  • Which Shuffle. Neither side says which Shuffle site the deal is for.

Real deal or marketing?

Some people online think it is staged. Here is what each reading has going for it, using only the posts above.

  • It looks like marketing. Shuffle joked about paying him two weeks before the note. Doherty asked brands to reach out two days before it. The note names shuffle.com and carries a “Paid partnership” label. The two posts reached 34 million views between them in three days.
  • It looks like a real term. Both sides say the contract exists. Dummett says it runs six months and that Doherty’s lawyers want out. Doherty has posted nothing on X since 10 October, and his Kick channel has been offline since 3 October.

Both readings can be true at once. A real contract can also be a very good advert. We do not call it a stunt, and we do not call it a gag order. The paper that would settle it has not been published.

The next test: the fight

On 3 October Doherty wrote: “I have to lose 12 more pounds in 12 days to fight the island boy… do you think I got this?” On 6 October he added: “I’ll take Adin Ross and N3on in a boxing match or MMA any day”. By his own count the fight falls in mid-October. We have not seen a confirmed date from the promoter, so we are not printing one.

A boxing event is filmed and streamed. If Doherty steps into a ring on camera, or goes live on Kick or YouTube, we will learn how wide the term really is. We will update this post either way.

Alex Jovanovic: “My read today: two people say a contract exists, and one of them has gone quiet on X. That is all the evidence there is. If Jack is back online next week, the term was softer than they said. If he stays dark, Shuffle owns the most talked about mute button in streaming.”

What this changes about Shuffle

For players, nothing yet. This is a marketing deal with a streamer. It does not touch Shuffle’s games, cashier or licence. The Curaçao licence register dated 9 October 2026 lists Natural Nine B.V. with licence OGL/2024/1337/0628. We read it for another review. We could not find BetPanda on the same list, as our BetPanda review explains.

Our Shuffle review scores the house 8.4 out of 10. It covers the 17 house games, such as Shuffle Crash, the SHFL token and the bonus rules. This story does not change that score. If you want the background on Curaçao licences, read our post on the Curaçao regulator leak.

If you follow streamers to casinos

  • Look for the label. “Paid partnership”, #ad or “sponsored” means the post is paid. This one says so on X.
  • Treat a streamer’s balance as theirs. You do not know whose money is on screen or who pays for the stream.
  • Check the channel is real. Fake streamer accounts exist. Our story on the Kick channel posing as Roshtein shows how one worked.
  • Test the house yourself. Small deposit, small withdrawal, then decide. That is how we test every casino, as our review method explains.

The Shuffle card in this post uses our partner link. Alex is a partner of every casino on this site, Shuffle included. Our money page explains how that works. Shuffle had no say in this post. Quotes from Doherty, Dummett and Shuffle are taken from their own posts on X. The cover is an illustration made for this article. The contract on it is drawn.
