Housebets Hubie's Road
File by Alex Jovanovic · checked 8 October 2026
Hubie's Road is the newest game Housebets builds itself. Hubie the sloth surfs from the beach toward an island, one lane at a time. Every lane he crosses lifts the multiplier, and a shark under a lane ends the round. You can cash out after any lane. Four difficulties set how many sharks wait in the water.

02How a round works
Set up
Pick Easy, Medium, Hard or Daredevil and enter a bet. The ½ and 2× keys halve or double it.
Press Bet and Hubie waits on the beach.
Ride
Press Next lane to cross one lane. Each safe lane moves the multiplier up one rung.
The sharks were placed before you pressed Bet. The order you ride in does not move them.
Cash out
After any lane he crossed, Cash out here pays the bet times the multiplier on screen.
Cross every lane and Hubie reaches the island party. The round then cashes out by itself at the top rung.
Lose
A shark under the lane ends the round, and the bet is lost.
Rungs you passed and did not collect are lost with it.
03Four difficulties, four ladders
The course has 25 slots. The sharks take some of them, and the lanes you ride are the slots left over. More sharks mean fewer lanes and bigger jumps between rungs. These are the rungs from the house formula, rounded down to two decimals the way the game shows them.

Our maths from the house formula. First step is the chance to clear lane one, and full clear is the chance to reach the island. A round wins at most a set amount above its stake, and the game does not offer a lane that would pass it. On a large stake the top rungs of Hard and Daredevil are out of reach.
04The far end on Daredevil
Daredevil has 15 lanes, so the island is close, but the jumps between buoys are huge. The last three buoys print short numbers: 49.0kx, 294kx and 3.23Mx. They stand for 49,031.40x, 294,188.40x and 3,236,072x, lanes 13 to 15 of the Daredevil ladder. Behind them is the island party with the DJ booth and the yacht.
Above 1,000x the buoys round down to k for thousands and M for millions. A round wins at most a set amount above its stake, so these buoys only stay on offer with a very small bet.
05How often each level pays
The four levels return the same 99% over time. They differ in how often a round pays and how much. This table shows the first lane that reaches each target and the chance to get there in one ride.
| Target | Easy | Medium | Hard | Daredevil |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2x or more | Lane 13, 2.06x, 48.0% | Lane 6, 2.34x, 42.1% | Lane 4, 2.58x, 38.3% | Lane 2, 2.82x, 35.0% |
| 5x or more | Lane 21, 6.18x, 16.0% | Lane 10, 5.00x, 19.8% | Lane 7, 6.13x, 16.1% | Lane 3, 5.00x, 19.8% |
| 10x or more | Lane 23, 12.37x, 8.0% | Lane 13, 10.35x, 9.6% | Lane 9, 12.04x, 8.2% | Lane 5, 17.51x, 5.7% |
| 100x or more | Not on this ladder | Lane 19, 113.85x, 1 in 115 | Lane 14, 113.85x, 1 in 115 | Lane 8, 166.39x, 1 in 168 |
Our maths from the house formula. Each rung sits a little above the target, so the chance is a little below 99% divided by the target.
06Auto mode
The Auto tab rides the same number of lanes in every round and cashes out there. A shark before that lane loses the round as usual.
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Lanes | Where Hubie stops and cashes out. The keys add or remove one lane, or you tap the buoy he should stop at. |
| Number of bets | How many rounds to run. 0 keeps going until a stop is reached or you end the run. |
| On Win, On Loss | Reset to the base bet, or raise the next bet by a set percent. |
| Stop on Profit, Stop on Loss | End the run once the session is up or down by that amount. |
| Speed | How fast rounds play: Normal, Fast or Turbo. The default is Normal. |
| Total profit | The running result of the Auto session. |
Auto uses the same shark draw as a manual round. It picks no safer lane.
07Hotkeys and settings
The Settings panel holds Sound, Volume, a Beach sound slider, a Max bet switch, the game rules, Hotkeys and three speed modes: Normal, Fast and Turbo. The Hotkeys window has a master switch, and the keys never fire while you type in a field. Each key can be changed, and Reset keys puts the defaults back.
| Key | Action |
|---|---|
| Space | Bet, ride the next lane, or start and stop Auto |
| Hold Space | Keep holding for a Bet Burst |
| C | Cash out |
| A | Halve the bet |
| S | Double the bet |
| Q | Set the bet to zero |
| E | Max bet |
| Esc | Close a dialog or overlay |
Space does three jobs: it places the bet, rides the next lane and runs Auto. C is the key that collects. E jumps to the max bet, and the next Space places it, so check the bet box first.
08How the sharks are placed
Housebets prints the draw in the game rules. The sharks are placed before you bet, from your client seed, the house server seed and a nonce that counts your bets on that pair. The Provably Fair panel has three tabs: My seeds, History and Verifier.
| Step | What happens |
|---|---|
| 1. Commit | Before you bet, the panel shows a SHA-256 hash of the server seed. The hash of the next seed is published too, before it is used. |
| 2. Hash | HMAC-SHA256 runs with the server seed as the key, over your client seed and the nonce. |
| 3. Draw | Each 4 bytes of the result pick one free slot on a 25-slot board, one pick per shark. It is the draw used by 25-tile Mines. |
| 4. Lane | The lane number is the tile number plus one. |
| 5. Check | Rotate the pair to reveal the server seed. The Verifier tab rebuilds the course, lists the shark slots and flags a seed that does not match its hash. |
Because the draw is the same as 25-tile Mines, any public Mines calculator set to the same number of mines returns the same shark slots.
09Rules worth knowing
These come from the rules panel inside the game. They matter more here than in most crossing games, because a round can stay open for a long time.
| Rule | What it means for you |
|---|---|
| Max win | A round wins at most a set amount above its stake. A lane that would pass it is not offered, and a round whose first lane would pass it does not start. The amount is set per coin and shows in the game. |
| Free round | A bet of 0 plays a free round. Nothing is staked or paid, and the sharks are still placed. You need to be logged in. |
| Reload | A round in play stays open on the server. Reload the game and it carries on. |
| 24 hours | After 24 hours without a decision, the server ends the round. With lanes crossed it cashes out at the current value. With none, it rides the first lane and cashes out if that lane is safe. |
| Rounding | Payouts round down to the smallest unit of your coin. |
| Bet range | The minimum and maximum bet are set per coin and show in the rules panel. |
10What 99% RTP means here
The Housebets game page badges Hubie's Road at 99.00% RTP, and the rules say every way of playing returns 99%. After k lanes with m sharks, the multiplier is 0.99 times the number of ways to place k lanes on 25 slots, divided by the number of ways on the 25 minus m safe slots. That is the fair price of surviving k lanes, less 1%. So Easy and Daredevil cost the same over time. The level only changes how often you collect and how big a collect is.
One shark in 25 slots on Easy, three on Medium, five on Hard and ten on Daredevil.
11How to play it well
- Pick the lane before you betOn Medium, lane 5 pays 1.99x and comes up 49.6% of the time. Choose where you will cash out, then stick to it.
- Easy climbs slowlyEach Easy lane is safe 24 times in 25, but the rungs move in small steps: 1.03x, 1.07x, 1.12x. You need 13 lanes to pass 2x.
- Daredevil is a long shotDaredevil clears the first lane 3 times in 5 and pays 1.65x for it. The island comes up once in 3,268,760 rides.
- Read the cap before a big stakeThe game does not offer a lane that would pass the max win. On a large bet the top rungs disappear, so check the cap in the rules panel first.
- Learn the board for freeA bet of 0 plays a full round with real shark placement and no money on it. Ride a few at your planned lane before you stake.
- Mind Space and EWith hotkeys on, Space bets and rides at once, and E jumps to the max bet. Switch hotkeys off when you set up a new stake.
- Rotate and verifySet your own client seed, then rotate the pair after a session. The Verifier tab rebuilds each course from the revealed seed.
12Questions players ask
What is the RTP of Hubie's Road?
The game page badges it at 99.00% RTP, a 1.00% house edge. By the house formula the return is the same on every level and at every lane.
Who makes Hubie's Road?
Housebets builds it in house. The game page credits Housebets Originals, and the game runs inside the Housebets site. It is not one of the Tequity titles in the same row.
How many lanes and sharks are there?
Easy has 24 lanes and 1 shark, Medium 22 lanes and 3 sharks, Hard 20 lanes and 5 sharks, Daredevil 15 lanes and 10 sharks. Medium is the default.
What is the biggest multiplier?
Reaching the island pays 24.75x on Easy, 2,277.00x on Medium, 52,598.70x on Hard and 3,236,072x on Daredevil. A round wins at most a set amount above its stake, so the top rungs need a small bet.
Can I play for free?
Yes, once you are logged in. A bet of 0 plays a free round. Nothing is staked or paid, and the sharks are placed as in a real round.
What happens if I close the game mid-round?
The round stays open on the server, and a reload picks it up. After 24 hours without a decision the server ends it: it cashes out if you crossed a lane, or rides the first lane for you if you did not.
Does Hubie's Road have hotkeys?
Yes, eight of them. Space bets and rides the next lane, C cashes out, A and S halve and double the bet, Q sets it to zero, E sets the max bet and Esc closes a window. Each key can be changed in the Hotkeys window.
Can I check a round?
Yes. Rotate your seed pair to reveal the server seed, then open the Verifier tab. It rebuilds the course and shows where every shark was.
Hubie's Road prints its own formula in the rules. Every rung on all four ladders can be checked before the first ride, and the 99% holds on every level.
